Melissa grew up in the Austin area and attended RRISD schools. She has been active in the field of athletic training since she was in high school and served as a student athletic trainer both in high school and throughout college. She attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas earning her bachelor’s degree in athletic training and then went on to the University of New Mexico where she worked as a Graduate assistant earning her Master’s Degree with honors in Sports Administration and served as an Approved Clinical Instructor for the University’s Athletic Training Education Program. She is a Licensed Athletic Trainer by the state of Texas and is a Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer by the BOC.
Melissa has served as an Athletic Trainer in the Austin area at High Schools for the last 7 years and has coordinated medical care/coverage for several UIL State events. She is also an active staff member with the Davis Mountains Sports Medicine Clinic. In her spare time, she serves as a volunteer with several groups to provide care to Rodeo athletes in and around the Austin/ Central Texas area.
